H&R/Pardner Pump Protector Mods
On my road to blinging out my home defense shotgun. I found that I could do some simple, and relatively inexpensive modifications.
These mods would make it more tactical, and increase its firepower capabilities. First I added a flashlight mount. You just attach it to your magazine tube.
Next I added a Tacstar Sidesaddle for Remington 870. It's the 6 shell model. It will fit with cutting a small rectangle on protectors forearm. Or you can buy a shorter for end.
After that it seemed that I needed better sights. The bead sight just wasn't doing for my eyes. So I installed a HiViz fiber optic sight. This installs onto barrel. It also gives a nice sight picture.
The mods will continue. But for right now I'm pleased with its progress. What do you think?

H&R/NEF Pardner Pump Protector
Looking for an inexpensive home defense shotgun? Well look no further. The H&R/NEF Pardner Pump Protector is an excellent choice. Shotguns are one of the most devastating firearms that you can buy. But as with all firearms, there are high end shotguns, and lower end shotguns.
But if your wallet isn't fat with cash, no worries! The protector can be bought for less than $200. I bought mine for $189 at Dunhams. The protector is a quality clone of the Remington 870. It feels solid in the hand, weighing in at 7.5#. The barrel is 18.5" long for easy maneuverability in home defense situations. It can hold 5 shells in the magazine tube. So with the all the 12 gauge loads to pick from. You can customize your firepower for home defense. The protector is a good shotgun for the money. Even compared to its higher end counterparts. I'm very pleased with it as part of my home defense.

Preparing for your first kayaking trip
- If you have been invited to try out kayaking for the first time. Or if you plan on renting a kayak at the beach. I wanted to give some advice for your first kayaking trip. It's best to be prepared. Having the right things can definitely make your trip. Things to bring : *Sunscreen, and a hat *Bottled water *Wateproof box, or bag *Towel *Snacks, or a lunch *Camera, or cell phone. I'm assuming that your kayak, paddle, and life vest are being provided by your kayak friends, or the livery. Now some helpful tips: *Talk with guide, or fellow kayaker about trip route, and how long it will take. *Help carry kayak, and gear to launch site. *Familiarize yourself with your kayak, and gear. *Adjust seat, and foot braces for comfort before getting on the water. *Have someone stabilize kayak when you get in (kayaks can seem a bit tippy while half in/out of water. *Have someone help launch you. Once out on the water get a feel for the kayak. Use your paddle to turn, and see how responsive it is. By now you should have a good feeling for how it maneuvers. If not, ask your guide or fellow kayakers for advice. Also make sure you stay with the group for safety reasons. Now for advice on things to look out for. Watch for fallen trees, stumps, over hanging branches. If you get hung up on one it can tip you over. Look ahead for ripples, or an eddie on the water. Sometimes that can be a submerged rock, or stump. Other than that relax, and enjoy the scenery. Take your camera, or cell phone out to take pictures of your adventure. I wish you a pleasant first trip. If you enjoyed it. You'll probably be looking for your own kayak for more of your own adventures. Relax, enjoy, and be safe! Any questions? Please comment.

Old Town Vapor 10 Kayak Review
It was weird getting a call from my cousin asking me to go kayaking. I always thought that kayaks were these super small boats with really small holes in the top. That skinny people went out on the ocean, and down rapids with. Even with those images still in my head. I agreed to go kayaking. One leisurely trip down the St. Joseph River, and I was hooked.
Now I had the dilemma of researching which kayak would be good for me. Upon further research I found the Old Town Vapor 10. It was an affordable kayak, and could hold me. I'm a big guy at 285#. So I needed a larger open cockpit to get in, and out of. The Vapor had other desirable features like : *comfort flex seat
*adjustable foot braces
*thigh pads
*molded in cockpit tray and cup
*stern day well.
Old Town Vapor
All of these features make for a very comfortable ride. I've been on rivers, Lake Michigan and the Vapor has dealt with all. Taking trips up to 5 hours with only stops for lunch. My only complaint is that the Vapor requires more paddling to track straight compared to larger kayaks. But the affordability, and value of the Vapor makes it an excellent choice for the beginner kayaker on a budget. Please leave any questions in the comment section.Or you can email me directly.Enjoy!
Hi-Point 995TSFG Carbine Review
I've had mid range firearms in the past. Springfield XD's, Ruger, Berretta. But with a wife, three kids, and the rising cost of ammo. I've had to sell, or trade most of those. I went with 22LR for awhile. Although they are fun. I wanted something a little more formidable. So I started researching hi-point carbines. I looked on YouTube, and google for reviews. After quite a bit of looking I learned that for the price. These carbines have many favorable reviews. Although they look weird. They are fun, and reliable. I now speak from experience. I bought a Hi-Point 995TSFG 9mm carbine. It's so fun to shoot. My wife, and kids (from 10-14 year olds) each really enjoy shooting it. The gun is accurate with the iron sights. But I put a holographic sight on also. Now it's rigged up for home defense i.e.( a tactical flashlight, and 3 magazines). I'm very happy with its performance, and looks. So for the price is paid, and quality firearm I received. I feel like my research really paid off. Plus all Hi -Point firearms have a lifetime warranty. How can you lose. So if you're on the fence about getting one. Just go buy one, it's a great value. I've also researched the pistols too. That's another blog! I hope this helped. Look for more items I've researched on Zombiesgunsandkayaks! Another good source is a video review by Nutnfacy on youtube. Here is a link to his review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ouqWxI9oLG8
